On the 2nd of August, 2009, the two minarets will be taken off of the Center Mosque by crane and put on heavy load vehicles that takes the towers to a rented shed in Fischbek, where they will receive their new outlook from Boran Burchhardt and members of the islamic community.
On the 6th of September, 2009, the heavy load vehicles and the crane return to put the newly designed minarets back on the mosque. On the same day an exhibition documenting the whole project will open in the dome of the mosque. Further accompanying events will take place.
What could happen?
At first glance the paint-up of the minarets can be seen as “Kunst am Bau” (Art for the decoration of new buildings and places which is being paid out of the whole of the project sum), but since the design strongly influences the architectural appearance of the mosque and also changes the whole cityscape around it, it may also be understood as “Kunst im öffentlichen Raum”, art in public spaces.
The artist understands the two towers also as sculptures and the board of the community followed this line of thought: Instead of paying Burchhardt for his work, they set up a contract in which he is assured that he may borrow the minarets for exhibitions.
In the contexts of contemporary art the minarets would then appear as original sculptures. But as if this is not enough, another contract even allows Burchhardt to sell each minaret once.
2 ağustos 2009 tarihinde Merkez caminin her iki minaresi çıkartılıp vinç ve ağır taşıt yardımıyla Fischbekte kiralanmış olan hole götürülecektir. Orada Boran Burchardt ve Cemiyet üyeleri minareleri boyayacaklar.
6 eylül 2009 tarihinde ağır taşıt ve vinç tekrar gelerek yenilenmiş minareleri camiideki yerlerine monte edeceklerdir. Aynı zamanda caminin kubbeli salonunda projenin dokümantasyonunu sunacak olan bir sergi açılacaktır. Buna ek olarak bir program planlanmıştır.
Neler olabilir?
Minarelerdeki boya ile ilgili yeniliğe "Yapımda Sanat"-gözü ile bakılabilinir. Boran Burchhardt‘ın tasarımı caminin mimari yapısına ve şehirsel alana kuvvetli bir şekilde müdahale ettiği için – belki de "Kamusal alanda Sanat" la da adlandırılabilinir.
Sanatçı minareleri birer sanatsal yapıt olarak da görmekte ve camiinin yönetim kurulu da bu fikri paylaşmakta: Bir ücret talep etme yerine Burchardt minareleri bir sergide kullanmak üzere ödünç alabilme hakkına yazılı olarak sahip olmayı tercih etmiştir.
Sanatsal alanda minareler otonom yapıt olarak görülmekte. Ve bunun yanı sıra diğer bir anlaşmaya göre de yenilenmiş minareler satılabilmektedirler.
